River Lures is a locally-owned and operated canoe, kayak, and fishing supplier conveniently positioned on the bank of the famed Maumee River. A full line of tackle, rods and reels, fishing nets, and general fishing supplies (not to mention soda, snacks, ice, etc.) are all regularly stocked "essentials."
The quaint canal-side shop also sells fishing and hunting licenses and an impressive array of live bait options, including: night crawlers, minnows, red worms, wax worms, leeches, and leaf worms. Frozen shrimp, cut shad, and chicken liver are also available seasonally for the catfish crowd.
River Lures is literally a stones throw from Providence Dam, which supports some of northwest Ohio's most consistent fishing. The patchwork of islands, riffles, and holes along this region provide quality habitat for walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and a booming catfish fishery (including flatheads to 50 pounds!).
