Jim Wendt began his
carreer in taxidermy in 1983, and committed
fulltime in 1987. He moved his shop from his
home to the S.R.
163
location
in 1993, and in 2004 Jim added an impressive
Log Cabin showroom and gift store to the original
building. The studio is now the largest in NW
Ohio.
Jim's Taxidermy built the infamous Wylie Walleye
for Port Clinton to replace the original
Wylie
(made of paper mache). The new rendering
was constructed of a solid wood frame with a
fiberglass exterior, and took literally hundreds
of volunteer hours to build. When Wylie is not
traveling to special events or being borrowed
by other
local business, he can be seen at our shop.
Jim's offerings include:
. The largest taxidermy studio in N.W. Ohio
. 1,500 SF showroom (4,500 sq. ft. facility)
.
State and international recognition & awards
. Booking service for hunts in N. America
& Africa
. Year round hours (showroom and store)
. Displays from all around the globe
