of OVO covers a wide range of articles on hunting, fishing, shooting,
how-to-dos, informative features, hunting and fishing
forecasts, opinions,
camping, boating, state DNR reports, and more. Regular features
include: a bowhunting column, humor column, maps, product reviews,
salute to wildlife
officers from Ohio (as well as PA and WV), “Field Notes,” a
calendar of events, “Doc’s Photo Showcase,” a youth
outdoors section, and a popular column entitled “For the Record.”
The uniquely large format (10.5 x 12 inch) provides ample space for meaningful
content. The magazine offers a minimum of 32 glossy, full-color and 48
black-and-white newsprint pages.
OVO offers an informative web site (www.ohiovalleyoutdoors.com) for hunters
and fishers in and out of the region. The site regularly runs a nice sampling
of articles that appear both in the current issue and in back issues. Other
features on the Web include: a photo showcase, “where to hunt and
fish,” a real estate sections, contests, state reports, and a list
of where to purchase the magazine at retail outlets.
Ohio Valley Outdoors Magazine promotes several contests
for readers throughout the year. Its most popular offering, “The
Sweepstakes,” has
consistently put out more than $10,000 in prizes each year. The
magazine also hosts the Ohio Valley Big Buck Rendezvous outdoor
show in Rogers, Ohio each September. OVO is present at several
other key outdoor shows and regional fairs throughout the year.
Each winter
the magazine participates in sportsmen shows in Pittsburgh,
Cleveland, Columbus, Erie (PA), and Morgantown (WV).

Chris Knowles are Advertising Executives. Rob Taber is Circulation

magazine is based in Lisbon, Ohio and owned
by Odgen Publishing of Wheeling, West Virginia.
