2008 Edition: Lake Erie Triple Threat

Lake Erie Triple Threat is available only from The Natural Resource, and represents the first in a series of Ohio fishing posters that will be produced each year. More On The Series

Subsequent prints in the Do More FishingT Series will continue to feature groupings of fish that are particularly meaningful for anglers who frequent Ohio's richly diverse waterways. From "The Big Lake" to the Ohio River, Ohio benefits from a tremendous array of aquatic habitats - not to mention a terrific selection of game species to pursue.

Lake Erie Triple Threat is the inaugural release in the series, but be sure to save wall space for at least seven more unique prints. Proposed titles include Ohio (River) Border Guards, Under the Lily Pads, Tackle Testers, Not Just Child's Play, Pond Dwellers, Ready to Rise, and Diversity in Miniature. Subsequent prints in the series will be available each November, so please check back with TNR often to view options and availability.

ABOUT THE ARTIST - JOSEPH R. TOMELLERI

Joseph R. Tomelleri is formally trained in biological sciences and received an M.S. in Biology from Fort Hays State University (Hays, KS). After working briefly in the field of botany, Joe decided to pursue his passions as an artist - devoting full-time attention to illustration starting in 1986.

Over the past twenty years, Tomelleri has traveled more than 150,000 miles to collect live fishes for his world-renowned, anatomically accurate renderings. His 800+ pencil illustrations have appeared in more than 350 publications (including more than 30 books), and his artwork has been displayed prominently in or on a tremendous diversity of magazines, advertisements, greeting cards, T-shirts, furniture, trading cards, newspapers, and identification guides.

Cover art and article-specific fish illustrations have appeared in such prominent publications as Field and Stream, Outdoor Life, In-Fisherman, and Sports Afield. Collaborative projects with Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Orvis, and Eddie Bauer have helped make Tomelleri a recognized artist with the general public. Illustrations for Dupont and Coca-Cola have also widened the breadth of his reach.

Joe Tomelleri is considered by many to be the most talented fish illustrator active today. His illustrative treasures have found their way into the publications of many state agencies, the American Fisheries Society, influential interest groups like Trout Unlimited, and even the Department of Interior's U.S. Forest Service. (Not bad for an artist who loves nothing better than to slip out with his fly road and pursue a wily trout . . . or carp!).

Recent work with the Great Lakes Aquarium (Duluth, MN) makes The Natural Resource's 2008 Collection - Lake Erie Triple Threat - particularly timely. TNR feels honored to be displaying the work of Joseph R. Tomelleri. We hope that by gracing your walls, these illustrations will bring back fond memories and hasten a call to action to get on the water soon!
