OHIO CLASSICS: FAVORITE TROUT RECIPES FROM THE BUCKEYE STATE
Barbecued Trout Kelly Masel - Huron, Ohio
Course:Main Entrée Servings:6 Ingredients & Instructions: 6 pan dressed trout 2/3 cup soy sauce ½ cup ketchup 2 tablespoons lemon juice 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
Place trout in a single layer in baking dish. Combine the soy sauce, ketchup, lemon juice, oil and rosemary; pour 2/3 of marinade into bag or dish. Cover and let stand for 1 hour. Set aside remaining marinade for basting. Discard marinade from fish. Place fish in a single layer in a well-greased hinged wire grill basket. Grill, covered, and over medium heat for 8-10 minutes or until trout is browned on bottom. Turn and baste with reserved marinade; grill 5-7 minutes longer or until fish flakes easily. Serve with lemon if desired.
