| | | Cheesy Bacon-baked Trout Spread | Favorite of Dan & Beth Yager - Houston, Ohio | | Course: | Appetizer | | Servings: | 20 | | Ingredients & Instructions: 4 slices bacon, finely chopped 1 whole drawn stream trout 1 pkg. cream cheese 1 cup cheddar cheese ½ cup sliced green onion ½ cup sour cream ¼ teaspoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon milk
Heat over to 350°. Cook bacon over medium-high heat until brown and crisp. Place trout on foil. Stuff cavity of fish with half of bacon. Sprinkle remaining bacon over fish. Fold long sides of foil together in locked folds. Fold and crimp short ends; seal tightly. Bake for 30 minutes, or until fish begins to flake. In medium mixing bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Remove bacon from fish. Add to cream cheese mixture. Cover with plastic wrap. Chill 2 hours. Serve with crackers.
